Think Spring
Oh, spring, you evasive little season. Just when I have the slightest inkling that 40 and 50 degree temperatures are here to stay, Mother Nature goes ahead and dumps yet another snow storm on us. I feel like I’ve been a pretty good sport this winter, but I’m seriously at my wit’s end. If spring isn’t right around the corner, I think I’m going to have to book an impromptu vacay. I need some sunshine and Vitamin D in my life STAT!
Tuesday was so deceiving… It seriously felt like spring was in the air! It was the first time in a long time where my skin didn’t feel numb as I was walking to the subway in the morning. (#itsthesmallthings) And I swear you could almost smell spring in the air! But as I type this, it’s been raining/sleeting/snowing for, like, at least 24 hours now. Joke’s on me!
I did some spring shopping at Old Navy last week and as soon as the weather seemed remotely bearable on Tuesday, I tried to break out as many spring things as I could! Perforated slip-on sneakers that I’ll be wearing all season long, my slim-fit boyfriend jeans that I’m obsessed with (as discussed here), a soft and sweet blush-colored linen tee (picked it up in multiple colors!), and a fun perforated faux leather tote that’s definitely going to be my go-to work bag for the next few months! All of these essential pieces are perfect for kickstarting the season… you can wear them now in this weird transitional weather, as well as in a few months when the chill has gone away for good! I’ve been wearing a (few different) camel coat(s) all winter long, but this calf-hitting hemline and open-front silhouette felt just right for a spring refresh. I can already tell that I’m going to be gravitating towards all mixtures of pastels and camel this spring, especially blush pink and classic camel. Consider yourself warned!
