Welcoming 2015.

The new year has arrived, and with it has arrived a renewed sense of determination and optimism. My resolutions tend to be better described as 'goals' than 'resolutions' - simply a list of things I'd like to achieve in 2015, as opposed to major life changes that kick off on January 1st with little to no preparation! Last year my primary goals were to focus less of what people thought of me, and to put my mental health first, and they both served me well. All being well, 2015 will be a year of big changes, so I want to focus my energy on gaining as much from them as possible.
Graduate - 2015 is the year Grant and I are set to graduate from university. My four years at uni have been a bit of a hard slog, and there are times when I've felt incredibly disenchanted with my course and tempted to throw in the towel. Thankfully my final year has been a bit more inspiring, and I've met some great people. The end is in sight, and it's incredibly exciting.
Move - Graduating from university will mean Grant and I have to leave our current flat, since it's managed by a student letting agency. We'll have been there for three years, and it was our first proper home together, so leaving will be very hard. Nevertheless, we intend to work our hardest to ensure we can stay in Bath, and the prospect of potentially moving a little closer into town is keeping me driven.
Cosplay - Finally finding the courage to attempt cosplay and attend my first convention in 2014 was one of the best choices I made. In the past I'd always worried about people judging me, but shortly after turning 21 in December 2013 I thought 'screw it, life's too short'. Cosplay makes me feel truly happy in a way that few other things do; it's on par with writing, blogging and fashion! I want to keep pushing myself, attending conventions, and making the most of finding a hobby that has brought an awful lot of light into my life.
Health - As well as continuing to prioritise my mental health, I want to pay more attention to the food and drink I put in my body. Grant and I got lazy in the latter half of last year, and one too many takeaways resulted in one too many extra pounds being gained. I want to focus on home cooking more healthy meals, and introducing more veggies and lean protein into our diet. I got a Nutribullet for my birthday a few weeks ago, which has been a revelation. It's made the prospect of eating healthily exciting, as opposed to being a chore.
Write - Writing was my first love. I've wanted to be a published author for as long as I can remember, and with graduation in sight it's more important than ever that I focus on that dream. I'm not expecting to get published this year, not by any means, but I need to work hard and pave the right path to make it as realistic a goal for my future as possible.
What are your goals/resolutions for the year to come?
