My Baby Is Three and I Have All The Feels

My baby turned three.

I’ll be honest, I have been all the way in my feelings about it. I want another baby–just not now. I have a few things that need to be in place before I decide to bring a new life into the world. Even though I’m 31 (32 in 5 weeks) I still feel as if I have a little time–3 to 4 years–to make it happen.

However, so many things can happen and who knows if baby number three will be a reality. So in the meantime I will continue to feel a way about my baby turning 3.

The Party

For the first time ever we took the party offsite. Last year as you may remember, we had his second birthday in the middle of a serious snowstorm. This year, I decided to have it at a bouncy/play house because honestly I didn’t want to deal with clean up and my husband having a complete conniption if one of the kids spilled fruit punch on our beige carpet.

His theme was Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles and we invited 20 kids. They all confirmed attendance. 12 showed up. 12! I know the weekend before Christmas is hard but geez. Next time I will invite 10 extra kids to cover what seems like an inevitable gap in his birthday parties. I could have easily invited more kids this year but I didn’t. Okay, mini rant over but goodness. December/Holiday babies have it hard!

Happy to say that the birthday boy had an amazing time, he was all over the bouncy castles and he couldn’t stay away from the games.

He was absolutely in love with his cake–and you can see here!

It was so much easier than my normal over the top birthdays in the house. There was NO clean up, I got to catch up with my favorite girlfriends and all the kids were exhausted by the end of the day. It cost a bit more than hosting it at home but it was worth it!

Do you do birthday parties in home or at venues? Do you over invite or take your chances? Do you have feels when you realize your baby is growing up?
