DIY chalkboard painted mugs (Carrie Loves)

Have you ever seen the Pinterest fails that people post? Well, I feel for them because I’ve had my share, too. But, this was a Pinterest success if I do say so myself. I found a pin for DIY chalkboard mugs by Brittany @ Pretty Handy Girl and decided to give it a go for some creative holiday mugs to share with friends & family.

I bought the mugs, painters tape & a snowflake border punch from Staples. Like Brittany I got my chalkboard paint from Amazon

. Everything else I had on hand.

To be honest, the snowflake punched tape did not peel off of the freezer paper very well – at all! It was too detailed of a cut out to peel off easily. If you’re going to use a punch, then I say the simpler the design the better.
