Holika Holika Pro:Beauty Kissable Lipstick; RD801 & RD804
Holika Holika’s Pro: Beauty Kissable Lipstick is a range of pigmented, almost balm like lip colours with a special curved shape, and a moisturising formula which is supposed to keep the lips hydrated and soft.
I purchased two shades, Twilight Red and Baby Red – one is a more wearable bright red and the other is a deep vampire like blood red. The entire range is quite bold really, full of reds and berries which is nice and a bit of fun – makes a change from the usual sheer boring colours.
The curved shape is supposed to help you apply this cold colour directly to the lips from the barrel, I think it a nice touch and it helps a little but with regular use, it’s going to lose the curve anyway! So I would’t buy it specifically for that!
I really like the texture! It’s not a matte or glossy finish, it’s somewhere in-between, and it is very pigmented indeed although I would say RD801 – Twilight Red is disappointing -the swatches made it look like a truly deep blackened red but its more of a cop out brownish red.
I much prefer RD804 Baby red which brightens up the face.
The packaging is plain black – it is lightweight and feels fine, nothing special or luxurious though.
Swatches:
Both of these left a slight stain as they faded away, but are not super duper long lasting per se. Still, it’s a nice texture and not a pain to top up although you have to be a bit careful with application what with how bold these colours are.,
The Baby Red shade:
Twilight Red – which REALLY doesn’t look like the black-red advertised! But if you prefer blue-er toned deep reds, this is the one for you. I just wish they made it darker and more dramatic.
