RMK Vintage Sweets Collection 2015 and Review!

Having been a long time RMK fan (Creamy Foundation FOR EVER), I am always happy to see their new collections – they are quite a unique brand in the sense that they have the Japanese quality and restrained wearable edge (many Japanese brands focus on shimmery sheer washes of colour and wearable, pretty looks) along with an inventive side I can’t even begin to imagine other brands attempting (YELLOW MASCARA? Read on….).

Vintage Sweets collection is a selection of pastel-fruity colours; think of cream cakes, afternoon tea, sweets, creamy delights.

The collection is Limited Edition and includes:

W Colour Mascara (dual ended) in:

1. Black and Pink

2. Brown and Orange

3. Blue and Violet

4. Indigo and Green

5. Dark Grey and Yellow.

The colour on the right is to be used for a pop of colour.

Vintage Candy Cheeks in:

1. Candy Pink

2. Candy Rose

3. Candy Red Rose

4. Candy Mocha Brown (I love this! But they didn’t have any left)

Sugar Sweet Eyes:

1. Sugar Pink Beige

2. Sugar Grey

3. Sugar Blue

4. Sugar Yellow (used on my eyes)

5. Sugar Brown

Vintage Sweet Face Colour:

1. Blue Lilac

2. Yellow Green

There’s also 5 new pastel nail polishes and 2 Art Liner colours.

There are also 4 none Limited Colours, two powder eyes in EX-08 Silver Green and EX-09 Silver Orange (nice!) and two powder cheeks in EX-06 Shiny Coral and EX-07 Shiny Rose.

I went along the the RMK counter for a very well done make over (well done? you know what I mean!) to try out the fun colours and skincare.

Now – I didn’t take my good camera so it’s a car picture – sorry! But you get the idea – the skin is always very glowy and radiant when using RMK products. The mascara is brilliant as RMK mascara is and I am wearing the really unusual yellow eyeshadow as i wanted to try something different. I would definitely recommend a RMK counter make over if you have a special occasion coming up because the finish is so good and they don’t make you look like you’ve had a ‘make over’….

I have some products here to review for you; Sugar Sweet Eyes 05, Vintage Drop Gloss 04, W Color Mascara 03. I chose quite useable every day colours like the brown combination eyeshadow rather than the yellow and the beige colour gloss because that’s the sort of thing I would wear effortlessly. The mascara is 03 is the one used in the promotional ad and is a blue and hot pink – I can have some fun right!?

The mascara is a serious bit of fun! You can use the accent colour on your bottom lashes or on the ends of your lashes – it is really up to you. I adore blue mascara so I thought this would be fun otherwise I would go for the Purple/Green combination which is quite dark and good if you want to play with colour mascara without wearing too much colour.

As always with RMK mascara, it holds curl perfectly.

The eyeshadow I went for is the 06 brown combination. The colours can be used separately (highlight shade and accent colour) or mixed together. I felt they were too sheer when swatched but actually, easily buildable (as you will see on my eye pic). It means you can apply this heavily or just for a very sheer wash of colour. The brush included with RMK make up is usually very good so totally useable.

The lip gloss is 03 which is a mix of brown, yellow and orange. It doesn’t come across here but its sheer with tons of shimmers. I collect RMK glosses, I love them – this one is very wearable for warmer skintones and works well on top of other lip colours or alone.

Using the gloss, eyeshadow and mascara -

The standout product for me is the mascara! I think it stands out without being garish and works well with simple brown eyes:

All in all, another fun collection from RMK to play with!

Check out the Sugar Sweets Range on RMK counters and also online at Selfridges.
