Crate DIY Holiday :: Challenge, Giveaway and Gift Bags

We are changing tradition this year with the premier of a new Crate Paper holiday gathering variety and introducing a multi-week presentation of DIY holiday projects galore from the one and only, CP Gal Team!

These gals have put together an amazing array of great DIY holiday ideas using this year's favorite Crate Paper collections. From now until Christmas, we'll shine a spotlight on each of their creations while offering a random mix of gift-worthy CP giveaways–just in time for Christmas!

To help you get in on the fun and excitement, Crate Paper has arranged a special December DIY Challenge. Take note of the details:

- Create a never-before-seen holiday DIY project from your much coveted Crate Paper Stash.

- Project must be at least 75% Crate Paper; items such as cardstock, ribbon, sequins, paint and other general materials are allowed.

- You may submit one altered item of your choice. Groupings are considered "one item"; wrapped gift assortment, Christmas trees, tags, stationary, etc.

- Winner will be announced Wednesday, December 31st.

- 1st Prize: Large assembly of Open Book and Notes & Things, and full disclosure of project at the Crate Paper blog and Facebook page.

- Runner-Ups: If we love your creation, we will share it here and elsewhere. Full credit included.

- Please submit your challenge entry to [email protected]–include your full name, any personal social media links and at least TWO project photos.

We present our first December DIY Creation; cozy snowman cookie bags from CP Gal artisan, Marie Lottermoser.

I always like to make something homemade for the neighbors during the holidays. But with how busy things are this season, this year I went with a semi-homemade gift. I bought pre-decorated snowmen cookies from the coffee shop, and then made my own packaging using the Open Book collection to make them more personal.

I started out by placing the cookies in a vellum envelope, and then cut out a band of patterned paper to wrap around the outside. I held the band together with some string and then slipped a candy cane through the center knot for a festive touch.

The tags came together in no time since the pink ruffles were already pre-sewn. All it took was adding a few embellishments and I was done.

All that's left is to deliver them to the neighbors along with their favorite latte and it makes a fun holiday treat!
