Meet Bruno

Getting another dog was not an easy decision for me. I still struggle with losing Muffins last year, and having another dog makes me feel sad. I don't ever want to feel like I'm trying to replace her. At the same time, I know that is not the reason we would ever get a dog because she will always be unique and special to me. Chloe is very hyper and our poor cats fall victim to being chased around the house all the time. She thinks it is "playing", but it's more like they are running for their lives. hahaha

Last week Cody was at Petco and this little guy was there up for adoption through our local animal shelter. Cody fell in love and after a week of begging and lots of thinking about it, we finally went to the shelter to visit with him. We took Chloe with us because she usually hates every dog she meets. The truth was, she was going to be the one making the decision. Right away, she was attached to him. Following him around wagging her tail and trying to get him to play. It was adorable.

My heart broke for this little cutie. His owner just abandoned him. Could you imagine how confused and sad he must of felt? During the week of thinking about it, I just knew that I had this chance to save him and give him an awesome life. We love taking our dogs hiking, on road trips, and to beaches where they can smell ocean air.

His original name was Brutus, but we liked Bruno better. We wanted to give him a fresh start! He is three years old and way calmer then Chloe who is six. haha He gets confused by how much she wants to play throughout the day. This is my first shelter dog and first male dog. I was nervous he was going to pee on everything when we got him home, since he had just been fixed, but no accidents or marking at all. I think we hit the jackpot with this little guy. Also, he looks like a little fox which just melts my heart. :)
