BH Cosmetics Party Girl Palette Review & Swatches

A few days ago, I was checking my e-mail like normal and came across one from BH Cosmetics, advertising two different 'Hot Summer Steals’. One was their Party Girl Palette, 12 pc Berry Brush Set, 1 Gel Liner in whatever color you choose and a pack of their makeup remover wipes all for $18.00. I decided that it was too good to pass up, since I had been eyeing the Party Girl Palette anyhow. Going back on their website now and adding it all up, it comes to about $30.00 and some change…if you factor in shipping costs and all of that, it saved me a good chunk of money.

I was so excited when I opened this palette because all of the colors are to die for!

Product Description:

The BH Cosmetics website describes this palette as “This 40 Color BH Party Girl Eyeshadow Palette was made to fulfill the ultimate socialite’s dreams. Whether you want to go for flirty or cosmopolitan, this makeup palette contains must-have shimmer & matte shades for double-taking beauty at your next big event.”

Basically, this palette contains 40 shades ranging from neutral to colorful, with quite a bit more shades on the colorful side. This palette is extremely versatile in the fact that you can do anything with it from a simple smoky eye to a colorful dramatic eye.

packaging:

This palette comes in a sleek and sturdy black packaging. It’s travel friendly…you can take it with you in your purse or makeup bag, depending on the size of it. Unlike magnetic palettes, these shadows aren’t going anywhere if you are unintentionally rough with it.

Formula:

This palette comes with a mixture of shimmer and matte shadows. Upon swatching, I did notice that some are more pigmented and go on smoother than others, but they blend extremely well and don’t appear to be chalky like I was expecting. The color pay off with a primer is outstanding, those super bright shades were exactly true to their color. There were two or three shades that didn’t really show up when swatching, but that still leaves you with a decent amount of beautiful shades.

Pricing:

My favorite thing about this palette is hands down the price. Purchasing it alone, without any kind of sale, it is $9.95 on the BH Cosmetics website right now. 40 eye shadows for such a super affordable price!

Overall Opinion:

Even though the palette does have two or three “dud” shadows, it is a complete steal! The rest of the colors are so rich and so pigmented. I cannot wait to get more time to play around with them and create some looks. All that I had the time to do today was swatch them. It’s a perfect little starter palette for beginners and for anyone not afraid of a little (or a lot) of color!

Here are my swatches…all of these were swatched with a primer underneath, and the pictures will go in order of the row they’re in in the palette.

If you would like to check out this palette you can visit BH Cosmetics here. I am in no way affiliated with this company, they have no idea I’m posting this, and everything was purchased with my own money.
