What’s In My Ipsy Bag?–November 2013

It’s that time again! Where I share what I received in my monthly Ipsy Glam Bag. I think that this month is my favorite bag to date! It may have something to do with the fact that I’ve started reviewing items that I get each month… I didn’t really know that I was supposed to! I think that it helps to weed out products and brands that you weren’t a fan of, so that you don’t continually receive them in your monthly bags. (You also earn more Ipsy Points this way!) Here is this month’s bag and what it contained. I have had the opportunity to try a majority of these items, so I will include mini reviews this month, instead of just descriptions!

Be A Bombshell Lip Crayon in ‘Hot Damn’ -

Any product with color names like “Hot Damn” already get mega points in my book. I’ve been so into bold lips lately, I don’t even care if it’s Fall/Winter, and I’m supposed to be wearing more neutral colors. What’s the fun in following all of the beauty rules anyways? I found this lip crayon to be super pigmented. While it was a tad bit drying when applied alone, I popped some clear gloss over it and was good to go. PERFECT RED LIP!

em Michelle Phan Lash Gallery Lengthening Mascara

I wasn’t sure about this mascara at first because when I initially tried it, I saw very lackluster results. The second time that I tried it, I applied more than one coat (We’re talking 3-4 here), which isn’t ideal if you’re pressed for time. It did lengthen the appearance of my lashes like the name promises. One con though? It took me FOREVER to remove. I tried several eye makeup removers and it took me multiple times. I do like it, though, and it’s currently living in my makeup bag!

Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil in ‘Amethyst’

I wish that Ipsy would stop sending me this brand! I wasn’t impressed with the Starlooks eyeliner I received in my September Glam Bag, so I knew that I wouldn’t be a fan of this pencil. It’s a pretty shimmery purple color that I would never wear. The product is very cheap feeling…hard to apply, doesn’t glide on like a liner should, tends to clump and the pencil breaks easily. Since I’ve figured out the review process, hopefully I won’t be receiving and Starlooks products in the future! This was the only product from this month that I didn’t like!

Pixi Beauty Bronzer in ‘Subtly Suntouched’-

It’s bronzer. Need I say more? Have we met me? I love this one because it’s smooth and easily blendable! The color makes me look perfectly sunkissed as well.

Nailtini Straight Up Color Nail Laquer in ‘Caviar Cocktail’-

I was super bummed that I didn’t get the gold color, but after reading some reviews and seeing that it looks more pink, I’m content with that I got. This is a really pretty and opaque color. I haven’t had it on my nails very long, so I’m not sure how easily it chips…but once I find out, I’ll let y’all know!

GLAMGLOW YOUTHMUD™ Tinglexfoliate Treatment-

There aren’t enough words for how much I loved this! My only complaint is that I got such a teeny tiny bottle! I’ve been wanting to try GLAMGLOW products for forever, I’m pretty sure I put them on my wish list last year, but never received them. What’s up with that, Santa? Not only is this a ten minute “facial in a jar” mask, it’s an exfoliator! You apply it as a mask and leave it for ten minutes, then you massage the mask into your face with warm water and it exfoliates while you’re washing it off. My skin felt so clean and smooth after this, I wanted to do it again the next night. I refrained because I have such a small amount. I will definitely be buying the full size though, and trying their other products.

If you haven’t signed up for Ipsy yet, you should! It’s so worth it and you get to try such a wide variety of different products. You can use my referral link and sign up here!
