Sally Hansen Over The Rainblue

Oh, bar glitter. I have such a love/hate relationship with bar glitter. Sometimes I love it. Other times I hate it. So I’m always a bit wary about polishes with bar glitter. But I have to say the combination of glitters in Over The Rainblue really works.

Over The Rainblue contains large and small blue hex glitter as well as silver bar glitter that has a bit of a holo effect to it. The glitter is suspended in a clear base and is intended to be used as a top coat (as indicated on the “overcoat” on the bottle).

The formula is good in the sense that the clear base isn’t too thick. The glitter goes on easily using the dabbing method. I used 1 to 2 coats of glitter in all my swatches.

At first I was a bit stumped as to what color polishes to use this glitter over. I settled on Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Tea Party and OPI Light My Sapphire. Since Tea Party is a light color and Light My Sapphire is a dark color the two manicures show how versatile this glitter top coat can be.

Make sure to check out the swatches under the jump. I ended up really loving this glitter top coat.

You can find Over the Rainblue at Ulta and drugstore.com.
