Fixtures
I discovered something quite surprising in the past few weeks with our house renovation.
You would think that you pick out bits and pieces for the house in order. The framing goes up, you pick out floors, then paint color, the bath tubs and finally… fixtures. This is not the case. The walls to our new home are not even up yet and we are making decisions on door handles, light fixtures, faucets … everything fixtures! I’m having a very hard time visualizing what the finished house is going to look like so I’m relying heavily on my husband {who is an expert on renovating houses}. It feels like selecting light fixtures is the icing on the cake for a house and that they would be picked out last. However, for us to place our order on these dozens and hundred of little knobs and screws we have to put the request in now so we get them on time.
So, now everywhere I turn I am noticing little details that I typically wouldn’t such as handles, screws and knobs. It’s been kind of a nice way to make me slow down and notice the little parts of my day.
