THE DRG STYLE INDEX: AG JEANS, DIOR, LANVIN

Here’s the latest weekly DRG STYLE INDEX ranking, a round-up of the brands currently buzzing on my radar…

1. ALEXA CHUNG FOR AG JEANS

As a certified celebrity-avoider, I rarely pay attention to celeb collaborations. The Alexa Chung for AG Jeans collection is the exception. There’s a lot to like in these simple denim pieces and you can actually believe that Alexa had something to do with them (although I wish she’d gone easy on the faux faded bits). Interestingly, there doesn’t seem to be a single retailer who hasn’t invested. Buy them at Fenwick, Net-a-Porter, Matchesfashion.com, Mytheresa, Harvey Nichols and Selfridges.

2. DIOR PITCHES UP AT DOVER STREET MARKET

Just in at London’s Dover Street Market: a brand new Dior space. Taking up residence for the season is a selection of RTW, accessories and shoes from the Dior cruise collection, echoing the Vuitton edit that arrived last season (both brands are owned by LVMH). It’s a good synergistic move for both Dior and DSM. Dior gets the cool cachet it’s been striving for lately (Raf’s menswear has been stocked at DSM for ever), while the younger Dover Street Market clientele gets exposed to one of the world’s best known luxury brands. As DSM’s CEO Adrian Joffe says, “barriers are broken and preconceived notions are dispensed with. That’s the crux of Dover Street Market.”

3. FEELING THE LOVE FOR LANVIN’S SS15 AD CAMPAIGN

My favourite ad campaign this week is Lanvin’s mother and daughter one, specifically Kirsten Owen and her daughter Billie Rose. Love the playful bonkersness of it all…
