Rosie O’Donnell to Take Part in Stand Up for Pits

Famous funny ladies will set the stage for a better tomorrow for dogs who are often hounded by prejudice when they step on to the stage at the Gotham Comedy Club in celebration of the one-year anniversary of the Million Pibble March.

Comedy fans can giggle for a good cause as The View co-host Rosie O’Donnell — who recently helped the crew on the ABCFamily series The Fosters rescue a starving and battered Pit Bull– joins Janeane Garofalo and Rebecca Corry (the founder of the Stand Up for Pits Foundation) for an evening that will include a silent auction, a canine kissing booth and adorable adoptables from a New York City rescue organization.

Inspired by Angel, a Pit Bull who had suffered from abuse before she received a new lease on life with founder Rebecca Corry, the Stand Up for Pits Foundation is a non-profit which raises funds for Pit Bull rescues across the country, offers homeless Pit Bulls the chance to meet potential pet parents at special comedy events, offers healthcare for injured and ill dogs, and raises awareness of the need to end dog fighting and discrimination.

Note: Ticket holders must be 18 or older. There will be a two drink minimum per person.

Tickets: $50 General Admission, $125 VIP admission (which includes skipping the line outside the venue, an open bar and VIP seating)

When: May 3, 2015 (Pit Bull adoptions from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.; show at 7:30 p.m.)

Where: Gotham Comedy Club at 208 West 23rd in New York City
