Tile & Pattern in Santa Barbara

Thank you long weekend, I needed you desperately. On Saturday we headed up to one of our favorite places on earth, Santa Ynez, which luckily is a short 2 hour drive. The relentless heat followed us, but being the country, away from traffic, noise and a good deal of the population was beyond wonderful. I'm the designated driver on these jaunts, chauffeuring my husband from winery to winery - some might find that tedious, but I happen to really like it because it's such a beautiful place and I can easily relax without the necessity of alcohol.

It was just a quick overnight, and yesterday we left early and had breakfast in Santa Barbara. Such a cool town, we walked around afterwards and I was immediately impressed and inspired by all the beautiful Spanish tile patterns everywhere.

I've got this thing for symmetry and pattern it appears. We decided we have to plan a short dedicated trip soon back to that magical town - so much character, I haven't given it enough credit in the past. More images are on my instagram & tumbr.

Also, we stopped at the outlets in Camarillo on the way back - I bought nothing. Score!
