Tutorial: Easy Flower Crown

In honor of Spring, we bring you two tutorials that even the least crafty among us could do. First up is this big and bright flower crown. Read on as our friend Blanca from Bonnet by Blanca walks us through it.

You will need: a variety of fake flowers, leaves and berries, wreath wire, scissors, wire cutting pliers, and floral tape.

Step 1: Make a wire ring. With your wreath wire, measure your head and add
about 4-5 inches. Cut the wire and bend into a crown shape. Twist the ends of the
wire together to secure the shape.

Step 2: Prep your flowers. Using your wire cutters, remove leaves and cut your flower stems to about three inches long.

Step 3: Add flowers to your crown. Once you have a few flowers prepped you
can start adding to your crown. To attach the flowers, simply twist the plastic stems
around the wreath wire. I begin by picking my favorite larger flowers and
twisting those on first. Then I add my smaller flowers, and lastly I add my leaves
and berries. I twist, tuck, and intertwine flower stems as I add flowers to the wreath
wire. Trim your stems when necessary.

Step 4: Finish your crown with a floral tape. Once you’re finished adding flowers
and your crown looks awesome you can add this finishing touch. Cut pieces of
floral tape about six inches long.

Carefully wrap the tape around the visible stems and wreath wire underneath your flowers. Continue wrapping the inside of your crown until no wire is showing.

That’s it! So easy. Blanca will be back later this week to show us something a little different- the flower belt.

Blanca wears the DV by Dolce Vita Agie dress.
