THINGS TO DO BEFORE XMAS
For a milanese doc and Christmas lover like me, the long weekend of Sant Ambroeus Immaculate officially marks the start of the holidays, like a golden gate covered with bells, which opens to the snowy country of Santa Claus, Rudolph the reindeer, little elves with striped stockings, Gingerbreads, many gifts, decorated fir trees and a lot of love.
How many things there are to do!!! Here it's a list that serves as inspiration and a reminder to pass a really special December.
And what are your traditions? I'm curious, maybe I forgot something!
Per una milanese doc e amante del Natale come me, il ponte di Sant Ambroeus Immacolata segna ufficialmente l'inizio delle feste, come un cancello dorato ricoperto di campanelli, che si apre verso il paese innevato di Babbo Natale, Rudolph la renna, piccoli elfi con le calze a righe, Gingerbread tanti regali abeti addobbati e tantissimo amore.
Quante cose ci sono da fare!!! Ecco a voi una lista che funge da spunto e da promemoria per passare un dicembre davvero speciale.
E voi quali tradizioni avete? Io sono curiosa, magari ho dimenticato qualcosa!
1. First you need to decorate home and make Christmas tree and nativity
1. Prima di tutto bisogna addobbare la casa e fare albero di Natale e presepe
2. Write a letter to Santa, asking quite a desire for us and so much peace to this bad world
2. Scrivere la letterina a Babbo Natale, chiedendo un bel desiderio per noi e tanta pace per questo mondo cattivo
3. Watch the classic Christmas movies together with brothers, friends and animals... the list of my favorites is endless, but definitely can't miss "Home Alone" 1 and 2, "Mickey's Christmas Carol" "Rudolph the reindeer "(which is a very old video tape),"The Grinch" and "Miracle on 34th Street"... there would be many more, maybe I'll dedicate a post just to Christmas movies!!!
3. Guardare i classici film natalizi assieme a fratelli, amici e animali... la lista dei miei preferiti è infinita, ma sicuramente non possono mancare "Mamma ho perso l'aereo" 1 e 2, "Canto di Natale di Topolino" "Rudolph la renna" (che è una videocassetta vecchissima), "Il Grinch" e "Miracolo nella 34ª strada"... ce ne sarebbero molti altri, magari dedicherò un post solo ai film di natale!!!
4. Do something good for those less fortunate. As a tradition, I visit a cattery where there is always a small market and the proceeds go to help the association
4. Fare qualcosa di buono per chi è meno fortunato. Come da tradizione, io faccio visita a un gattile dove fanno sempre un mercatino e il ricavato va in aiuto all'associazione
6. Make little gifts handmade for friends and colleagues... I know that will be a little poor Christmas, so I have to be smart with DIY, but I found lots of nice ideas... I know that will need a post also for this.
6. Realizzare dei pensierini fatti a mano per amici e colleghi... mi sa che questo sarà un natale un po' poverello, quindi devo ingegnarmi con DIY, ma ho trovato tantissime idee carine... mi sa che ci vorrà un post anche per questo.
7. Sing out loud all the imaginable Christmas songs, from the tradition classics to the latest releases (I find amazing the new version of "Do They Know It's Christmas?" by Band Aid 30), having fun with friends
7. cantare a squarciagola tutte le canzoni natalizie possibili e immaginabili, dai grandi classici della tradizione fino alle ultime uscite (io trovo fantastica la nuova versione di "Do They Know It's Christmas?" della Band Aid 30), divertendosi in compagnia
8. Go to the Christmas markets. For me, born and raised in Milan, the "Oh Bej, Oh Bej" fair is sacred!
8. andare ai mercatini di Natale. Per me, nata e cresciuta a Milano, la fiera degli "Oh Bej, Oh Bej" è sacra!
9. preparing Christmas cookies in the shape of gingerbread, rocking horse, comets and hang them on the tree... or eat them!
9. preparare biscotti di natale a forma di gingerbread, cavallo a dondolo, stelle comete e appenderli sull'albero... o mangiarli!
10. leave hot milk and cookies for Santa, the night of 25
