Karl Lagerfeld is known for his exquisite and creative settings surroudning his runway shows for each season – and this fall and winter show was no exception. The 81-year-old workaholic designer was posing for the press at the giant French brasserie he recreated inside the Grand Palais for Chanel’s latest ready-to-wear show. The creative director and designer showed of 97 looks, all paired with the white-and-black block shoe from the 1950s, an accessory Lagerfeld resurrected for the first time ever from Coco Chanel’s archive. The fashionable guests were sitting around classic and chic bistro tables, where signs of ‘No Cellphone Use’ could be seen along with daily newspapers. As if all of this were not enough, of course there were French waiters serving champagne on silver platters.
