Céline has released the first image for its latest ad campaign staring no one else than the American novelist, journalist and legend Joan Didion. Phoebe Philo certainly never ceases to amaze. This choice of cover girl is so cool and suitable for a brand as Céline. Didion IS the definition of graceful ageeing and we applaud that Philo once again honors the mature women. And it all ties together, many say the Resort 2015 campaign was inspired by the 1968 Julian Wasser-shot portrait of Didion sitting and standing in front of a Corvette.

And speaking of Didion, we will see more of her this year with an upcoming documentary about her life – We Tell Ourselves Stories in Order to Live – directed by her nephew Griffin Dunne.
