Christmas Advent Calendars 2014

With Christmas only 6 weeks away, it' is time to get into the holiday spirit and what better way to do so than to open a new window of your advent calendar every day, for 25 days?

And if you can't make up your mind, here is my 2014 advent calendar round-up :

The Beauty Calendars

Who ever said advent calendars had to be filled with sweet treats has obviously never seen these.
Liberty Print Christmas Beauty Advent Calendar £149
Featuring Liberty's must-have beauty buys, from skincare to scents and everything in between, this advent calendar is the most indulgent way to count down the days to Christmas... Assuming you can resist the urge to open all those windows at once, of course.
Benefit 'Candy-Coated Countdown', £60
Benefit never fails to impress with their advent calendars. This year is no exception. Their 'Candy-Coated Countdown' features over £100-worth of the brand's best-sellers, including High Beam, the POREfessional and They're Real mascara. This is one of the most popular calendars, so don't wait too long to grab yours or you might just miss out.
Beauty at Tesco Advent Calendar, £50
With everything from Katy Perry lashes to Moroccan Oil conditioner and Vaseline, the Beauty at Tesco calendar is the perfect option for all the drugstore addicts out there.

Petite Treats 12 Days of Tarte Deluxe Collection, $37
One for my US readers, this ULTA-exclusive calendar features a new Tarte surprise hidden behind each of its 12 doors. Do I even need to mention the $122 value? Bargain!
Selfridges's Enchanted Spells Christmas Advent Calendar, £85
The Selfridges advent calendar needs no introduction. It has been the most coveted beauty calendar for the past few years and for good reason. From Urban Decay to Lancôme, YSL and even Khiel's, this calendar is the perfect way to inject some luxury into your morning routine. Only downside? Well, it's probably already sold out by the time you read this.
Jo Malone Advent Calendar, £250
Beautifully crafted after the Jo Malone London townhouse, this calendar hides a Jo Malone fragrance, body cream or other little luxury behind each of its 24 doors.
N°7 Beauty Calendar, £35
Behind each window of the Boots N°7 advent calendar hides one of the brand's best sellers - including skincare, makeup and even nail polish.
Elemis 12 Days of Beauty, £59.50
Filled with 12 different skincare products, this is the perfect calendar for anyone who isn't really into makeup, or simply owns too much of it already. Sounds familiar? That's what I thought.

YOU Beauty Discovery Advent Calendar, £49.50
Expect to find some Essie, Caudalie, and some GlamGlow behind the 24 windows of the YOU Beauty Discovery Advent calendar. Worth a whopping £240, but retailing for only £49.50, this calendar is, in my opinion, the best value for money.
Ciaté 'Mini Mani Manor' Advent Calendar, £49
Filled with 24 mini Paint Pots and Effect blends, this Ciaté advent calendar is the go-to choice for all the nail-art lovers out there. Now the real question is, which one will you wear on Christmas day?

L'Occitane '13 Pampering Treats from Provence', £62
Inspired by the French tradition of the '13 desserts' and filled with 13 classic L'Occitane products, this advent calendar is the perfect introduction to the brand or the ultimate festive pampering treat for those already in the know. And the best thing? It is currently on sale for £45. Need I say more?
The Body Shop Beauty Advent Calendar, £50
Treat yourself or a loved-one to the best of the Body Shop with this advent calendar, which features 24 of the brand's best-sellers, including their famous Almond Hand and Nail cream and vitamin E Moisture Mask.
The Traditional Calendars

If you prefer the traditional chocolate filled-calendars or even the old-school pop-up kind, these are for you :

Meri Meri Toyshop Advent Calendar, £8.95
It doesn't get more traditional than this vintage-style calendar, with its 24 exquisite drawings.
Hotel Chocolat Advent Calendar to Share, £26
With two delicious festive chocolate truffles hidden behind each window - think cinnamon, salted caramel and mulled wine flavours -, this is the perfect calendar to share with your other half. Not in the mood for sharing? You can also go for Hotel Chocolat's classic dark, milk or white chocolate calendar.
Fortnum & Mason Wooden Advent Calendar, £90 - £125
Modeled on Fortnum's famous store in Piccadilly, this wooden calendar is filled with delicious, festive treats. Behind each numbered door is something sweet, such as a sugar mice, jelly beans, fondant sweets and of course, F&M's signature chocolates. You can also buy it unfilled for you to put your own treats and gifts in.
Prestat's 'Finest Truffles' Advent Calendar, £30
Filled with 25 delicious truffles made of Prestat's finest chocolate, this is a calendar fit for a Queen, especially when you know Prestat actually provides treats to Her Majesty herself.
The Not-So Traditional Calendars

If you just want something quirky and different, why not give these a go?

David's Tea '24 Days of Tea', $35
One for my Canadian readers, this David's Tea advent calendar offers a new blend of tea for each day of Advent, making it the perfect morning treat in the run-up to Christmas Day.
Best of British Beer Advent Calendar, £120
Featuring 24 different beers in a Christmas-tree shaped box, this is the ultimate adult version of the traditional festive countdown.
The Ginvent Calendar, £110
This cleverly named 'Ginvent' calendar contains 24 30ml samples of artisan gins from around the world. And if gin isn't your thing, why not try the tequila, vodka or whiskey version?
Topshop's Jewellery Advent Calendar, £25
Filled with 25 'Freedom at Topshop' goodies - including stud earrings, charm necklaces and dainty bracelets -, this is one for the accessory lovers amongst us.
Yankee Candle 'Advent House', £24.99
Each door reveals a tea light candle in one of the brand's signature festive scents, which include 'Candy Cane Lane', 'Sugared Apple' and 'Christmas Cookie' to name a few.
Which calendar will you go for this year? I personally can't make up my mind between the YOU Beauty calendar and the Yankee Candle one.
