To build a home

Dylan and I have just moved into our third home together.

It’s been amazing to have already been in two places that we’ve bought, fixed up and have let go.

It started small, from a flat in a complex to a house in Parkhurst, but I feel a growing passion for property, spaces and interiors. Something Dylan and I would love to invest more time into.

We still own our Parkhurst home (there are many a post about it on the blog), and it is a space we really LOVE, miss sorely and would love to go back to one day. It’s been in three magazines and really is our labour of love.

Cape Town property is another ball game completely! All anybody seems to want is a nice, two bedroom apartment in Tamboerskloof with a view and these (at the right price) don’t come up often.

The City Bowl was our first choice for obvious reasons but when you’re moving cities and you’re anxious about where you’re going to live and something beautiful comes up (and within budget!) you sign that lease quickly sir! So we’re renting a super cute flat in Claremont. It’s old and lovely and is basically our old house on a smaller scale.

We don’t mind living in the ‘burbs but what we’re really missing is a view, and some sort of outside space.

Sometimes I do a fantasy trawl on Property24, and this week I think I found my dream home!

I think a couple of photographers slash entrepreneurs would be really happy in a place like this! Now we just need to win the lottery! Ha!

I love everything about this house and right now it’s everything my home dreams are made of!

Wide open spaces, industrial and designed.

Imagine living high above the city, surrounded by beautiful buildings with tons of natural light streaming in!

I can imagine drinking G&T’s on that deck in summer, watching the sun fade over the city and seeing all the city lights come on. It would be quite an epic place to live.
