Bare Minerals Get Started Complexion Kit

Mineral make up seems to be a love it or hate it thing, but I’ve always been on the “I love it!” side of the fence. I think it’s because I hate my makeup to feel heavy on my skin, especially on casual days. For that reason, I tend to wear mineral makeup more than any other type of foundation (sometimes I use a tinted moisturiser with mineral makeup on top for added coverage).

I use Bare Minerals regularly, but they recently sent me this starter kit through the mail which I thought would be great for someone who was just getting started in the big wide mineral world. For a tiny little case, it manages to include lots of their bestselling products such as their Prime Time Primer, Original and Matte Foundation, Warmth (I know this bronzer looks super dark but when buffed in it is BEAUTIFUL), Mineral Veil Finishing Powder and a brush to apply the powder.

I use the shade called ‘Fairly Light’ and even though I’ve used mineral makeup for years, I still find myself shocked at how much coverage it provides. It’s really simple to use, just put a bit of product on the brush, swirl it around in the lid and buff. One thing I will say about mineral makeup is that the buffing is key. BUFF, BUFF BUFF until you can’t buff any longer! That’s what gives the flawless skin-like effect.
