Rouge Edition Velvet lip colour by Bourjois

Here is a bright, punchy, budget lip buy that I have been loving lately. Loving so much that I have bought several colours... oh well! Read on to find out more about why I love the Rouge Edition Velvet lip colour from Bourjois...

Bold, matte, vibrant lip colour is a look I absolutely love, especially in Summer, and especially paired with a minimal make up look on the rest of the face. I love bright lipsticks and am of the opinion that if you are brave enough, and want to make a statement, and look chic, then matte is the only way to go.

Bourjois are a drugstore brand that always come up trumps for me in terms of formula, (their foundations are fabulous, and the products are made in the same lab/factories as higher end brand Chanel!) So I was intrigued to try out these lip paints. Packaged like a lipgloss they go on wet, and then dry to the most amazing long lasting colour. When I wear them, the colour lasts for HOURS, through eating drinking, and pretty much anything. I was so impressed. It definitely took a couple of goes with the Bioderma or similar waterproof make up remover to get it off, but I don't mind as I find this stuff to be amazing, perfect for when you don't want to be worrying about touching up your lip colour all day. I usually find that I reapply once throughout the day and it stays put. Once dry they are completely matte and opaque.

The doe foot applicator works well and the formula feels smooth when on. The colours I have l-r are Pink Pong, Ole Flamingo, Frambourjoise and Personne ne Rouge.

The lip colours are priced at £8.99 and available in several colours at Boots and Superdrug. These are my new affordable favourites in my make up bag!
