Bluebeards Revenge – Not just for ‘real men’

It’s that time of year again when gals have to start shaving their legs again….yep, it’s Summer!

I have been meaning to write about Bluebeards Revenge shaving products since last Summer (oops)…and yes, that’s how long I have been loyally using the shaving cream and shaving brush.

I rarely shaved my legs because I couldn’t find a razor which didn’t leave my skin with that awful bumpy rash, even the razors with the fancy ‘built in shave cream/soap’ thing didn’t help, I actually hate those razors, I personally can’t work with them.

Anyway, I think I was complaining on twitter about this awful shaving rash and a nice chap from Bluebeards Revenge tweeted at me, recommending their range of shaving products…I did some research and didn’t care that it wasn’t a pretty, fluffy, girly brand. I wanted results and who better to solve my shaving issues, than a brand specifically designed for men’s shaving? I was SOLD!

I have never used a shaving brush before, it was something I remember my dad using when I was a kid. I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, I thought it would be a long process but it really isn’t, it takes less than a minute to foam up the brush with the cream and brush it over each leg.

So, how does it work? Well, I wet the brush and then brush it into a 10p piece sized amount of shaving cream to get it all foamy and thick. I love that the cream is made with vegetarian friendly ingredients and Decelerine, an ingredient to help delay hair growth. I’m not sure whether it is the brush or the shave cream, but my skin always feels exfoliated after shaving using this method and I haven’t suffered from in-growing hairs or bumps for almost a year now using this shave-rash-elimination duo.

Shaving my legs used to fill me with dread because of the results and it was such a bore of a chore, but now I look forward to it. I recommend every girl who suffers from post-shave rash or in-growing hairs uses a shave brush and cream. I would never go back to those girly shaving products which are designed for the lucky girls with fine/minimal body hair. I also need to invest in the cool porcelain shaving bowl to shave like a real man, haha.

The Shave Bristle Brush costs £6.99 and the Luxury shaving cream costs £9.99, available from www.shaving-shack.com
