She’s Modern, Feisty & Wants it all

I love the fashion industry for its fast paced and unpredictable nature. It’s much more than a skin-deep industry as many are lead to believe. I feel it’s as much about the beauty of an garment, how fabric flows and falls; how shots of colour are used to intensify a look, and how a piece of clothing can completely change your state of mind.

It’s art for the body, wearable pieces of creativity that someone has envisioned and painlessly developed, however I’ve a confession. Most savvy fashionistas are rummaging through the coolest of vintage stores on the look out for classic gems, but you’ll never find me there. You’ll find me on the search for new talent, bright bold colours, and unusual statement making shapes. After stumbling across designer Chalayan on Avenue 32, I knew I had found a designer that I quickly felt myself falling for. The modern collection features chic solid whites, teamed with acid lime green, bold yellows and tasty orange shades to die for. The collection summed up as a woman – she knows exactly what she wants, she has a kind heart but she’s feisty, and you would stare at her if she walked by – why? Because she made you.

A statement piece from this collection would become a wardrobe staple for any modern woman out to make a statement. My personal favourite, a coral silk open dress. Which piece would you go for?
