These are the kind of ballet flats I can get on board with.

Black, glossy, laces that go on for days and high-shine metal accents, these Aquazurra beauties are Dorothy shoes for grown-up glitter phobes. I’m not a massive heels person; I love the look of them and the idea of wearing them, but if there’s any kind of public transport or walking further than from the cab to the bar involved, I’m ready to go barefoot within an hour. These are the ideal compromise… Toe cleavage, sexy and feminine without being in any way twee, I’m thinking of sacking off heels altogether in favour of these for the forseeable future. On a side note, a brand that puts pineapples on the side of its boxes has got to be applauded…

I’ve been eyeing them up for a while and now they’re in my clutches I’m even more excited for the return of those sunny Spring days when goosebumps are but a distant memory. Remember those? Just as good with boyfriend jeans as skirts and even denim cut-offs, I’ll be putting these through their paces just as soon as the fear of frost bite subsides…
