Opposites Always

Like the sexy ingenue that doesn’t know she’s sexy at all, these Aquazurra flats are pretty much the perfect Parisian shoe. So it makes sense they got their first outing en France last weekend for a day of walking between appointments and wandering the length of the Seine in bright, 20-degree sunshine. For a short but sweet Sunday I felt like a lizard coming back to life after a long, cold night… all while looking down at those shiny black laces.

They’re definitely at the girlier end of my footwear comfort zone so I like giving them a tomboyish twist with an oversized, indigo jean jacket or baggy, ripped Levis. No surprise there though – I think my love of opposites is more evident that ever with this look; bondage slippers with a vintage, Goonies-inspired jacket and a little 70s suede skirt with the world’s longest sleeves and biggest roll neck. Must be the Aquarius in me. We do like to keep people guessing us water bearers.
