Crash Course to New York

Hey everyone,

This past weekend something incredibly cool happened and that is I got to visit New York City for the very first time in my life. I can’t even explain the feelings I experiecend. I was afraid my heart will jump out of my chest any moment. And let me tell you, New York is 10 times more wonderful and glorious than what TV and photos made me believe it was.

I find inspiration in little things, people around me, architecture, details, food and simple every day life. Luckily I had a couple of hours to myself my first day, so I took a cab and just went walking around the streets of Manhattan taking pictures of buildings, people, architectural details and moments. I’m no professional photographer, but I would love to frame some of these shots to remind me of how inspired I felt while taking them. Sometimes, it might not be the most spectacular picture, but its the moment that makes it special.

One thing that I trained myself to do since a little girl is to dream about very specific things and cross them off my list when they come true. One of them was to take a picture poking out of a car sunroof on Time Square. Well, here it is in all its glory!

The actual reason behind the whole trip was to film an episode of the SUPERSTYLED web series in collaboration with Stylehaul and Hair Room Service. It was such an incredibly fun experience to get my hair and makeup done by celebrity artists. I had to keep it cool from fan-girling though, got to be professional

I loved our photo session over at Lincoln Center right where all the New York Fashion Week was happening. Here is a little sneak peek from the shoot. I will post the actual episode once it’s Live on here as well!

One conclusion that I made for myself is that next year when I come back for NYFW I have to step up my game with the outfits. Street style during fashion week is a trend-setting runway in itself. Gotta stock up on those feathers, rhinestones, neons and glitter to give street photographers something to talk about:)
Good bye New York, hope to see you very soon!
