JIMS BIRTHDAY

As indicated in yesterday’s short post, I went to celebrate the first birthday of my gym . Jims, located in Beggen-Luxembourg, is certainly a place where I spend many hours of my week and it’s even more one of the few places where I can focus on nothing but myself and get super tired for the rest of the day. Sounds awesome,doesn’t it? So when the invitations got out, I couldn’t help but tick the ”attending” button for this festive event.

When entering the gym the past evening, this clash between sportsman and party-people was so obvious and fun at the same time. On the one side people drinking champagne,tasting the food and enjoying interesting conversations,and on the other side highly motivated sportsmen sweating on the treadmills, gasping in the weights section and listening to their own tunes through the headphones.

But there was of course more to that, namely a pretty blue cake, a nice set up buffet and the one and other worthwhile show to watch, among them a Capoeira presentation and the posing practice of a figure competitor. Both were that cool to watch, that I even forgot to snack from the buffet, also because I was so busy snapping shots all around.

I really like these types of events where it’s just my camera and I, as it leaves me with the possibility to observe the surroundings without feeling like a total creep. You simply get a different view on the entire place you’re in while looking through the lens and waiting for the perfect moment to hit the shooting button.
