New York Fashion Week for me is all about working. This season my schedule was a bit busy working with designers consulting and styling the new Spring / Summer 2014 collections. Sophie Zinga is one of the designers I got a chance to work with this season. Her new SS 2014 collection was inspired by ornate delicacy and velvet texture of rose. With Malian tie-dye techniques using dual coloring, carefully applied on delicate French Alencon lace. Including a broad array of textures, enhanced by pleating on crinkled silk chiffon, sateen cotton and silk faille fabrics.
Zinga adds a greater depth to the delicate pieces featuring: white guipure lace, recalling the brand's minimalist and romantic point of view. Carefully reinventing the brand's signature cocktail dress; including hues of lavender, vivid fuchsia and bright white. Evening looks feature a showstopper one-shoulder jumpsuit, tie-dye lace dresses, and color infused silk charmeuse frocks. Collection includes a kaftan dress with a deeply draped back making for a sensual and elegant twist on the modern silhouette. An a-line wedding gown with pleating and a delicate tulle embroidered overlay completes the assortment, appealing to the fashion-forward future bride-to-be.
