Albums
Emeli Sande - Our Version of Events

Definitely my favorite R&B/Pop album of the year. Emeli writes wonderful lyrics and her voice is amazing.

Stand Out -
My Kind of Love
Fiona Apple - The idler wheel.

I love every single Fiona Apple album and this one is no exception. I just love the honesty of her lyrics.

Sand Out -
Valentine
Frank Ocean - Channel Orange

I love the lyrics here and the mood of the music. The music shows mellow definitely doesn't mean boring.

Stand Out -
Pyramids
A$AP Rocky - Live Love ASAP

I love the mellow laid back rapping style and the lyrics. Plus this mixtape just makes me wanna do hoodrat shit wit ma friends.

Stand Out -
Trilla
Alabama Shakes - Boys&Girls

I love the southern vibe of this album and the emotion of the singer.

Stand Out -
I Ain't the Same.
Kendrick Lamar -
I love how cinematic this album is and the lyrics are everything!
Stand Out -
Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe

Books

The Fault In Our Stars - John Green

I felt all the feelings when I read this book. It was a quick read, but so meaningful and funny with quotables galore. I plan to read it again this year. Also, one of you guys recommended this in a comments so thanks!
Anna and the French Kiss - Stephanie Perkins

I'd never read a contemporary romance before and I would have never picked this up based on the cover alone (it's terrible), but I did and loved it. This was a really sweet, genuine, funny romance.
The Sliver Linings Playbook - Matthew Quick

I really enjoyed the voice of the main character, the interesting family relationships, symbolism of football, and openness of the ending. I didn't like the movie though.

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian - Sherman Alexie

This a semi autobiographical novel about life on an Indian (the author refers to himself and other people as Indians) Reservation. It's really funny, but heartbreaking at the same time while raising some good questions about racism, education, and poverty.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky

This book is my favorite of the year. I loved the characters and related to it so much. Also, I cried at the end. I'm a sap...I know. The film was amazing as well.

Events
Being mentioned in the NY Times (although it was very brief) was great. So great in fact that my mom bought 7 papers...lol Check it here.
I read 21 books this year. It wasn't 50, but I'm happy I got back into reading. You can check out my reviews and hauls every month on youtube.
This year I also got into analog photography. I love using my Diana F plus and playing around with the different films. You can check out a few of my shots here.
I got accepted to Roosevelt and Depaul Universities. I'm super excited to move out, learn more about writing and get a four year degree.
I started wearing my natural hair. After a year and a half of transitioning my hair under the protection of weaves I'm happy to be wearing my natural curly naps.
New Year Goals
Read 50 books.
Watch 100 films I've never seen before.
Get my Associate's Degree in English before going to 4 year.
Stop procrastinating (Yea right...doesn't hurt to say it though).
Knit a sweater.
Shoot more Analog photography.

Continuing posting here once a week.

Update my big fat mouth at least once a month.
