Me and bestie used to listen to Linda Pira quite a lot back in the day when she was signed to Ayesha Quraishi's label Aqueen Ent and her sound was completely different, it was reggaeton and latin vibes galore. Today, singed with one of key players in the Swedish hip hop-scene Redline Recordings, she has in a short amount of time managed to make the Swedish hipster-crowd go bananas. A couple of weeks ago fröken Pira finally dropped her debut single "Bang Bang/Bäng Bäng" (cop off iTunes
here) and she's probably the only one who can get away with a video where a third of it is captions rolling over the screen like a sad school project presentation.
However, 'Bang Bang', produced by Salla Salazar of TSB, is a cute little play on Sister Nancy's old classic 'Bam Bam' but the real winner of the release is the Masse Salazar-produced 'Bäng Bäng'. Peep the official video directed by Oliver Martin featuring both tracks below:
