Luxury Houseboat Sold for over 2 Million

Ever think of living on a luxury houseboat? The charming houseboat featured in one of my favorite movies, Sleepless in Seattle, has sold for over $2 million. According to the Puget Sound Business Journal, the houseboat, a beautiful 2,200-square-foot home that’s located in Seattle’s Lake Union neighborhood was recently sold.

One of Seattle’s most iconic properties, this gorgeous home is located at the end of a charming dock off of Westlake Avenue North in Lake Union. The new owners love the lake, love paddle boarding and wanted a family summer home close to the family’s Seattle house so they wouldn’t have to commute to a vacation place. I love “touring” the inside of unusual homes, and thought you might too. The interior is calm and inviting, and kept to neutrals, so as not to compete with the real stunner….the view!

The entry is made happy with pots filled with seasonal flowering plants. I love the touch of blue and yellow.

Beautiful clean lines in the kitchen, with an abundance of counter space for food prep, but also to use for entertaining. You could easily set up a buffet for a large party on the kitchen island.

The master bedroom. Simple, but comfortable. I’d like to update the bedding a little, but other than that it’s a great space {especially for a vacation home!}

The view is, of course, what is most stunning about this home. If I owned this, I’m not sure that I could ever leave. I’m sure that the new owners and their family will truly enjoy this home for years to come. In the meantime, I {and I hope you} have enjoyed this little tour of this luxury home with a difference.
