On the Design Wall (Again!)

Thank you all so much for your great feedback on my site redesign. I was so happy to hear your kind words and receive your emails. I already feel lighter and more excited to be in this space. I’ve had a really fun couple of days sewing this week. Once I finished my Rocket quilt, my design wall was officially empty of commitments. I went through a few of my work in progresses to see what I wanted to finish up first.

I know, if you remember this quilt section you are probably thinking “suuuuure Faith is going to finally finish that one…” I am though. I promise this time! Look at all that empty space on the wall.

This quilt is a spin off of my Poinsettia Mini Quilt Pattern. I’ve added some additional sections and played with color a bit. But the block size and assembly of the main block is the same.

** Update for those asking for a specific pattern for this quilt, as there are some block additions: it will most likely happen in the future. **

I dove into my collection of Anna Maria Horner fabrics. I really, really love her designs and colors. I started by cutting an equal number of warm and cool colored fabrics for balance. I also had to cut a lot of cream and black fabric for the background. I’m using up some of my favorite prints, but I think I’ll be happy to have them shine in this quilt.

So far I’ve paper pieced half of my components. Only 184 to go! Then I imagine I’ll be spending a lot of quality time with the rotary cutter, trimming these down to the finished size. Hopefully you won’t get tired of this project as I share a lot of my work along the way. It helps motivate me. My goal is to be finished before Christmas!
