Spring 2015 – Children’s Consignment Sale Haul

One of the most common questions I get about shopping a children’s consignment sale is: what types of things do you usually buy? The answer I always give is, “pretty much everything”. Over the past six years I’ve scored great deals on clothing shoes, baby gear, toys, diaper bags, carriers, shoes … the whole nine yards. As my kids get older though, the amount of items I come home with has dwindled. Obviously, I’m still not shopping for backyard Playskool equipment, or ride-on toys for the house anymore – but I still go to stock up on clothing for the season, as well as shoes and books.

This past trip was a smaller haul, but a really good one nonetheless. Here’s the clothing I brought home for the boys:

8 – Pairs of shorts
5 – Tees
3 – Rash guards
1 – Pair of swim trucks
2 – Pair of flip flops (brand new)

Total for clothing: $51

Not pictured above that I also bought: 7 books ($8 total – 3 picture, 4 chapter) and 2 Skylanders SwapForce characters ($7 total – going into the Mouse’s Easter basket).

It was a good haul – I got a lot of really nice staples that I know they’ll wear, at really amazing prices (um, that Texas Rangers tee was $1.50). I might not be coming home with a trunk load of items anymore, but I’m still grabbing up really great deals to get my kids through the season without breaking my bank!
