Somehow things are just really hectic at the moment, and I’m not getting as much time to blog as I’d like. The kids are going to bed later in the evening, and I’m going to bed earlier, which means there’s fewer hours in between to get everything done. So whilst I’m still making sure to take at least one photo every day, I’m writing another two-week roundup this week as I didn’t manage to get around to writing last week’s in a timely fashion. So here is my selection of photos from the last two weeks :
We went out for lunch with some friends today, and whilst we were out we had quite a snowstorm. It snowed heavily the whole time we were eating, and we didn’t think it would settle. The kids were rather delighted to discover there was a “light dusting” on the grass when we got outside – enough to make footprints in at least!

My son has been enjoying drawing recently, and despite his sister muscling in on the photo, he is very proud that this picture is all his own work!

The geekdaddy was overcome with an urge to bake yesterday evening, and produced this batch of Chelsea buns after I’d gone to bed. What a lovely sight to wake up to!

The geekdaughter has started watching YouTube, and is obsessed with watching videos of people opening surprise eggs and “blind bags”. She keeps talking about watching the opening of “giant surprise PlayDoh eggs”, and today made her own giant surprise PlayDoh egg for her brother!

The kids have been enjoying rediscovering their Plasticine, and this is what my daughter made with hers today (including mixing the right colours to make the brown)

I can’t believe the time has come around for me to be renewing my firstborn’s passport! But yes, in order for us to get to DisneyLand Paris next month, she needed to have her passport renewed. Today I got all the paperwork together and sent it off to the Passport Office.
Renewing my firstborn’s passport. How is it possible that I have a child that is old enough for her first passport to have expired?! #365 58/365 A photo posted by Ruth Arnold (@r2uk) on Feb 27, 2015 at 6:56am PST

As part of the ongoing saga of my gallstones I had to have an MRI scan today. Our local hospital doesn’t have a permanent MRI facility, so my scan took place in the back of a lorry in the car park! Glamorous…

The tap in our kitchen has been dripping for months. I had a plumber look at it, thinking it would be just a washer that needed replacing, but no, apparently it didn’t have a washer, it had ceramic plates, which were old and warped. Couldn’t be fixed, I was told, you’ll have to buy a new tap. Thankfully recently our local ALDI had some kitchen taps on sale, so I grabbed one. It’s taken a while for the geekdaddy to get around to fitting it, but today he did, and I now have a lovely new, non-dripping tap

I’m not sure if I should be proud of how well my son’s writing has come on, or sad that’s he’s reached the stage of putting notes on his door to tell his sister to keep out!

After attending Brownies for a few weeks now, the geekdaughter did her Promise this evening, and become a fully-fledged member. She was presented with this little collection of badges, which I now get to sew on to her uniform!

For World Book Day today the kids’ school asked everyone to come in dressed as their favourite hero or villain from a book. My daughter chose to be Hermione Granger whilst my son wanted to wear his new Iron Man costume!

Another sign that Spring is coming – we’ve got a good crop of frog spawn in our garden pond.

We did some baking today, and for the first time that I can remember my son wanted to join in and help. Here he is using the rolling pin to smash biscuits to make Tiffin.
