My Blueberry Apple Kugel Recipe Video

This recipe is one I first posted back in January of 2012 and it has gotten a lot of love since! I know why too, it's one of our favorite recipes as well. I always prepare it for Shabbos and Yom Tov especially when I know I'll be having guests. I thought it was about time I dedicated a short video to it, showing you as I prepare it step by step and at last, here it is!

Blueberry Apple Kugel

Ingredients:
3 1/2 Cups Flour 1 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Oil 1 Egg 1 Tsp Baking Powder 4 Green Macintosh Apples 1 Large Can Blueberry Pie Filling 1 Tsp Brown Sugar
Method:
1. Prepare crust/crumble topping: Combine flour, sugar and baking powder in a large bowl and mix. Once the powder ingredients have come together add the oil and egg.

2. Mix it up with your fingers a bit to create a crumble texture and then press about half of the mixture into a greased 9X13 pan.

3. Peal the apples and then begin slicing them up into small/medium cubes and spread them over the crust in an even layer. Sprinkle the brown sugar over the apples which will give them a caramelized taste later.

4. Dollop out the blueberry pie filling with a spoon and then spread it over the apples as evenly as possible.

5. Top everything with the rest of the crumble and preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

6. Bake uncovered for about 1 hour or until the top is nicely browned and the apples are soft and cooked through.

7. Allow to cool before serving and either serve cold from the fridge or warm from the oven.
