Homemade Facial Skin Care Recipes

Advertisements and commercials love to show off beautiful women with flawless complexions. Thanks to the art of enhancing photography, any women can be made beautiful.

However, to achieve a natural, healthy complexion can be a challenge. There are tons of skin care products for sale in today’s world. They may offer some benefits, but what they mostly do is take your money for a temporary beauty fix.

You don’t need to be spending a ton of money to look beautiful. Healthy skin can be achieved using simple household products that work just as well inside your body, as they do on your skin.

You really can have younger, healthier skin – on a budget. Why should you spend hundreds, or thousands, of dollars on skin care products when you can make products at home for a fraction of the cost, with the same, or better results?

Many women already enjoy their homemade facial masks and other treatments. They realize that making skin care products at home is inexpensive when compared to treatments at salons and spas.

The best thing about homemade skin treatments is that they are all extremely safe (unless you have an allergy to a certain food product – in which case, you should avoid that product) and super easy to make and use.

Invite a friend over and make it a “girl’s spa night” at home. Once you learn how easy it is, and how wonderful your skin feels afterwards, you will never need to go to a spa or salon for skin treatments ever again.

Here are a few skin care treatments that you can try yourself. These really are “must-try” recipes:

1. Egg White Mask:

Egg whites are a natural whitening product. To make your egg white mask you will need:

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of unflavored gelatin

Mix the honey and the gelatin in a small bowl. In another bowl, beat the egg white until it looks a bit thick and foamy. Mix the honey and gelatin in with the egg and give the mixture a good stir. Once mixed together you can can simply apply to your face. After 15 minutes you can wash it all off with warm water.

2. Cucumber, Honey, & Oatmeal Facial Mask:

This is probably the most popular facial that one can make at home. This is a must try for anyone serious about their skin care treatments.

To make this facial mask you will need:

  • ¼ of a cucumber – either mashed or pureed
  • 1 tablespoon of organic honey
  • 1 tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 – 2 tablespoons of uncooked oatmeal

Mix all ingredients together to form a paste. If too thin, add a bit more oatmeal; if too thick, add a bit more olive oil. Once mixed to the proper consistency, you can apply it to your face. Wait about 10 or 15 minutes, and then rinse your face with warm water.

3. Banana Yogurt Mask:

Have a lot of bananas getting ripe on your counter? Why not put them to good use for this mask. You will need:

  • ½ of a ripe banana – mashed
  • 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt – the whole milk variety
  • 1 tablespoon of organic honey
  • 1 tablespoon of wheat germ

Mix all ingredients and apply to your face. Leave it for 10 or 15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

Each of these skin care recipes is designed to leave your skin soft, healthy, and glowing with life. You will be amazed at the changes you can make in your skin with common products you probably already have at home.

There are many books available, and many helpful online sites, that will offer many more recipes like the three above. Have fun, and treat yourself to a homemade facial today. You will be so glad you did.
