What a Year

My goodness. It’s been quite a year. Looking back, it’s kind of hard to believe all this stuff fit into one calendar year. Here’s what 2014 contained:

Alex proposed to me on Friday, January 3rd.

It was an absolutely wonderful night and I got to share the good news with my parents and grandmother, who were visiting from out of town. We had such a fun weekend celebrating!

February included lots of wedding planning, but also trying some delicious restaurants like WPA Bakery and Proper Pie, a blogger barre class at Richmond Barre, and a fun photo shoot for Baggio with Sydney and Kaytee.

March and April were full of engagement photos, bachelorette parties, and bridal showers! I was so blessed to be able to celebrate in both Ohio and Virginia!

May and June included our wedding day and honeymoon, which were both absolutely wonderful!

We traveled quite a bit in July and August- to Chicago, Ohio, and Minneapolis. Alex’s family threw us a wedding reception in Minnesota so I could meet his family that couldn’t come all the way to Virginia for the wedding. It was so much fun getting to meet his extended family!

Let’s see… September and October included a vegetarian beer dinner, a couple of trips to New York, a trip to North Dakota for my cousin’s wedding, and oh yeah, we bought a house.

After all that, November and December were spent unpacking, remodeling, and celebrating Christmas with our families, including my second little nephew who arrived December 1st. We also got to celebrate our first Christmas in our new house!

What a year it has been! Some of these things took me by surprise and some required more paperwork and planning than I ever dreamed possible. (I’m so glad to be done wedding planning!) I have no idea what 2015 has in store for us but I’m sure it’s going to be a great year!

What was the best part of your 2014?
