Tresemme Keratin Smooth Review

I picked the Tresemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth Treatment up on a whim in Boots, I think I watched a video of someone using this in between my marathon watching of funforlouis's youtube videos and clearly I stored the product in my brain as a good item to try if I saw it whilst shopping.
My hair extensions just do not seem to be liking any of my current hair products and while the hair itself is of amazing quality (Celebrity Choice weft from Beauty Works) the products were making it so dry that no matter what I did I could not seem to re-moisturise the ends and figured anything was worth a try if it came recommended.
Claims
Tresemme claim that the 7 Day Keratin Smooth Treatment will ensure that your hair is frizz free and sleek for 7 days with up to 3 washes, having used the product once. You are supposed to shampoo and condition with the Keratin shampoo and conditioner from the range as well to sustain the effects.
How to use

Wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner (ideally the same Keratin ones from the Keratin range) and then apply the heat activated treatment section by section to your hair before blow drying. They say to use 8 pumps for medium length hair, I used 10 but I have my hair plus 3 rows of weft hair extensions and they are quite thick. Blow dry your hair and then straighten it using your usual hair straightener, the heat is supposed to activate the treatment. I did feel at this point that surely your hair would be sleek, smooth and frizz free if you did this anyway but then as I was blow drying I started to notice the difference.
The results - day one
As I was blow drying my hair I instantly noticed how much easier it was, my hair wasn't knotty and the brush went through so much easier than usual, I made sure to put the treatment through the tops of the weft of the extensions as this is where they often get dry and tangled and this helped so much. My hair dried so well and so easily. I then straightened it section by section. Once this was all finished I kept stroking my hair as it was so silky and smooth, I put an extra pump of the treatment on the ends of the extensions and they feel great now. So we shall see how long the smoothness lasts!
Day two and three
Every night I plait my extensions so when I wake up they aren't tangled, my hair is still nice and frizz free but by day 3 my ends are getting quite dry so I realise that I will need to wash and condition my hair again at day 4.

Day four

I washed my hair today and the treatment just seemed to have washed out, so I had to put some of the product on again and repeated what I had done on day one. This time I plaited my hair while it was still warm from straightening so it went wavy, and the waves lasted for the 3 days.

Overall

I think the product works well and was very pleased to not have to spend a long time straightening my hair for three days and my hair looked extra sleek and felt silky. I do think it helped my hair to look more shiny as well. Unfortunately in my experience it didn't fully live up to the claims as it didn't last past the first wash of my hair. This didn't bother me as I only wash my hair twice a week, but if you washed your hair every day, that might be more of an issue.
Overall I think this is a great blow dry product to smooth and de-frizz your hair but don't be disappointing if it doesn't last through washing, all you have to do is apply a bit more and blow dry and straighten as normal.
I was so impressed with the effects of the Tresemme Keratin treatment that I went and bought the heat protectant spray as well. This stuff is awesome and the mist is so fine that it really gives a light coating to all of your hair with just a few spritzes. It's the best heat protectant spray that I have tried and the results are obvious, I actually threw away all of my other half used bottles of other products. My hair is in much better condition from using this and I will definitely be repurchasing this along with the 7 day system.
