Easy Breezy Flower Display

I’ve always been strangely anti-vases, but my resolve was cemented after a two week work trip (hard, I know) through the French countryside a few years back, where just about every single floral display was nonchalantly ‘plonked’ into jugs, tea pots and other wonky, charming, bric-a-brac-type vessel. While I can appreciate a fancy flower arrangement in an equally fancy vase, for charm factor you can’t beat pulling a quirky jug, silver coffee or tea pot or enamel container off the shelf and filling it with pretty, colourful, fragrant blooms. I know it’s not a revolutionary idea, I know it’s nothing new, but it’s a look (especially noteworthy if you’re a bride to be scanning this site for inspiration) that endures precisely because it’s so nostalgic, evocative and whimsical. I’m especially fond of enamel, Delft, and battered metal or tarnished silver, all of which you can find easily enough in second hand stores, junk markets and your gran’s cupboards.
