More Ways to Display

As i mentioned earlier in the week, i’m in the midst of sorting out the overly complicated and cluttered areas of our home and i’ve packed some stuff away in boxes and rearranged some others. Are you like me, an avid collector of things who is sometimes called a hoarder by their partners? Haha, the hoarder word is occasionally mentioned in our home and it’s not received well!

I’ve been trawling the net looking for inspiration for different areas of our home and ways to display the items we have. Here are some cool solutions and ideas i’ve found.

Floating shelves are a win in any space, especially one that’s small and i think they work everywhere – from the living room to the bathroom and the bedroom. They’re also a brilliant way to contain clutter and make sense of special items you have without things looking too chaotic. The trick is to keep things neat and tidy and to find a common thread (like the pops of orange colour here).

Here, the thread is colour and texture – from brown kraft paper bags to wire baskets and the lovely little collection of glass bottles which i love.

I have a pile of cork tiles in my office which i bought a few years ago with the intention of ‘papering’ a wall with them. i never got round to doing that and now seeing this image of a home office wall i’m sad i didn’t.

Shelves with exposed brackets are back in a big way and what i find interesting about this image is the little pockets of books which pepper the shelves – quite an interesting way to display

Even though this shelf is haphazard, i really think it works and that the little collection of ceramics and the plants add such nice clues to the personality of the owner. The zig zag shelf is really interesting too.

Love this and it’s so easy to make yourself. Such a great way to upcycle leftover pieces of wallpaper and paint samples.

Ah, the good old gallery wall. This is an entrance hall table and it’s such a welcoming and interesting space.

I’ve already shared my love of trays and how essential i think they are to the home. This dressing table is fab – love it!!
