Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! Here is the story behind today:
Saint Valentine was a third century Roman priest. He was imprisoned for marrying Christian couples in a time of persecution of Christians by the Romans. He was so intelligent and charming that even the Emperor Claudius Gothicus took a liking to him. However Valentine, whose name means brave, took things too far and tried to convert the Emperor who was by tradition the High Priest of the pagan religion in Rome. The emperor dealt with this in typical Roman fashion by having Valentine beaten with rods and then beheaded. His Saint’s Day in the liturgical calendar is February 14th.
