I gave into temptation: MAC Black Line & Teddy eyeliners

Purchased/Affiliate Links

There’s something about MAC (at least for me) that makes it so easy to get sucked in and, ultimately, walk away from the counter with a haul. I think it’s the just under “high end” price point that makes it easier to justify. Exhibit A: the two eyeliners I’m sharing in this post, Black Line and Teddy, are both only $16. For WHATEVER REASON that’s much easier for me to swallow than the $20 Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners, and I feel like other MAC products have the same effect on me (only $15 for a lipstick? OK!).

But I digress. Maybe it’s the sleek black packaging, or that every product seems to be available in a spectrum of colors… whatever it is, MAC has been tempting me more than than ever recently. In an attempt to justify my purchases (and share my love of these two beauties with you!), today I have photos and swatches of MAC Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner in Black Line and an Eye Kohl in Teddy.

MAC Black Line is a Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner ($16.00 for 0.04oz.), a formula that is supposed to be smooth, long-wearing, and give off intense color. Black Line is a gorgeous blackened olive green with gold shimmer (described by MAC as “black with gold pearl”). I LOVE eyeliners like this when I want something a bit different than black- it gives the same intensity and definition, but lights up eyes with the golden sparkle. This color is especially great on green, brown, or hazel eyes.

MAC Teddy is an Eye Kohl ($16.00 for 0.048oz.) and creates that smudged-out, smokey look to perfection! It “sets” after about 30 seconds and doesn’t go anywhere on my normal-dry eyes. I’m SO happy I picked up Teddy- it was the wonderful Mia at Make Me Up Mia who gave me the final push to buy it. This is a gorgeous bronzey brown to wear on the lower lash line, plus it pairs wonderfully with so many different colors.

Swatches:

Both eyeliners actually have golden shimmer/sheen (it’s much more subtle in Teddy), so here’s one more picture so you can more easily see the effect:

So pretty, right? I’ve actually been wearing these together lately, using Black Line on the top lash line, and Teddy smudged out along the lower lashes. The colors complement my Urban Decay Naked Original eyeshadow palette SO well, but they also look gorgeous by themselves with just a very neutral eye. In the look below, I’m wearing them with my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette:

Do you own either of these eyeliners, or maybe colors that are similar? What are some of your favorite MAC products? I’m not sure how I feel about jumping on the MAC bandwagon, but my collection seems to be growing faster than ever!

Thanks so much for reading, and happy “hump day”! XOX
