jingle bells DIY

I’ve been going crazy with holiday pins this year and I’m probably feeling extra festive because it’s the first Christmas in our new house. When thinking about how to decorate our bungalow, I started reminiscing about traditions we had in my family when I was younger. Growing up at Christmas time, my mom always hung jingle bells between the banisters of our staircase. As a result, nearly every time I came down the stairs, I had to (joyfully) ring each bell.

So this year I began brainstorming about incorporating jingle bells in our new house for Christmas. The result was this simple jingle bell décor to hang on the wall. I just love it! This project cost less than $10 and took probably 20 minutes. It’s so cheery and festive!

Here’s what you’ll need:

-jingle bells of various sizes (about 30 pieces, which are sold in packs at craft stores)
-wire (16-gauge works well)
-pliers
-a small piece of red velvet ribbon

First, cut your desired length of wire using a pliers (longer is better, you can always cut more off later). Begin by stringing bells of different sizes on the wire, positioning the bells at different angles so they fit together tightly. Continue until you make a semi-circle of bells. At the opposite end, create a point at the top, twist the wire, and use a pliers to coil wrap the wire on each side. Cut the excess wire off evenly. Lastly, tie a simple red bow at the top and hang on the wall to enjoy!

Are you still decorating for the holidays? This would be a super easy last minute project. :)

Happy Friday, friends!
