Where Did You Get That Cocoon Sweater?

We get it—you're cold. We're all cold. Comes with the territory when you live somewhere that experiences winter. And we've all been in that position where you have to look at your life, look at your choices, and admit to yourself and those around you that the endless streaming of Scandal or Friends can only warm your soul so much. Love them we do, but they cannot provide the sustainable coziness of the cocoon sweater. These five are oversized and have details that make them a more interesting alternative to those black merino blends that've consumed the last few months. So sit back and cuddle up to one of these. Or, y'know, a person.

1. Ryan Roche Open Knit Cardigan: When I first saw this sweater, I thought it was ugly (sorry). But something strange happened over the last few weeks and now I can't stop thinking about its shagginess, three colors, and tasseled belt. That. Belt. Just add fitted jeans and wear it with confidence.

2. Jil Sander Navy Eskimo Popover: Artful markings—a bit zebra-esque, no?—turn this turtleneck up a notch or two.

3. Wood Wood Carly Sweater: If you're in search of an upside to this banal month, remember that it's still sale season. Woop. Here, a grid pattern prevents a mossy mohair style from becoming too nature girl.

4. Maison Martin Margiela Line 1 Sweater: An open knit upper and almost dress-length cut makes this sweater the kind of thing you wish your grandma would knit. She's going to be sticking to scarves thankyouverymuch, so just click add to cart instead.

5. Margaret O'Leary Tralee T-Neck Sweater: The softest of soft at a sale price with an intriguing open, layered back. I hate to see you go, but it's alright to watch you leave. Cause the back of that sweater is interesting.
