Easy DIY monogrammed plates

Hi! My name is Susan Duane and I’m so happy to be guest posting for Jen while she recovers. I hope you enjoy my post and you’ll stop by my blog Love of Home to say hi!

I found these great little clear glass plates at Target for $1. They are perfect to personalize. I used my Cricut to cut out our initial and make some monogrammed plates. The only thing you have to remember is to reverse the letter so it will be the right way when you put it on the back of the plate. If you don’t plan on using the dishes (you’re just using them for decoration) then you could just adhere to the front of the dish and don’t have to worry about reversing the letter. You could make these for any theme, special day, personalize silhouettes for each family member, a set of 6 would be a sweet house-warming or wedding gift…lots of possibilities.

I removed the stickers and washed the dishes first. Then I created my design in Design Space and reversed the letters. I cut one for each dish. Usually vinyl is the same color on the front and back so you can adhere them either side. You could always hand cut your own design from stencils or purchase pre-made vinyl designs.

Here is the “D” reversed and peeled off the vinyl sheet.

Lay the letter with the right side facing up on a pad of paper.

Line up the plate and press down to adhere the vinyl to the back of the plate. Smooth out any bumps. You’re done!
