In this video, you’ll learn how to make a fun pair of tassel earrings using scraps of suede leather leftover from other projects! This style is so easy to make, and the earrings are so light and airy you’ll want to wear them every day. Mix up your colors with different leathers and have a blast with your new tassel earrings!

TOOLS AND MATERIALS:

• 1/8th inch (3mm) suede leather lace (4 pieces at 4.5 inches long, 2 pieces at 1 to 2 inches long)
• 2 or 4 jump rings*
• 1 pair of ear wires
• 2 pairs of jewelry pliers (chain nose, bent chain nose, flat nose)
leather or fabric glue**
• flush cutters or sharp fabric scissors
• toothpicks and paper towels

* Depending which way you like your tassels to face as earrings, you may want to add an extra set of jump rings. One pair of jump rings means the side of the tassel will face the front of the earring. Adding another jump ring will rotate it a quarter turn so it will look different. You can also use your pliers to twist the ring on the bottom of the ear wire and accomplish the same thing!

**As I mention in the video, don’t worry too much about the brand of glue. As long as it says it will bond fabric or leather, it will work on this suede. I like to use Beacon’s Fabri-Fix (also known as Fabri-Tac), which is very viscous but holds tight and dries clear.
