Happy Thanksgiving

Oh weekends — how thankful I am for them especially during this time of year. Today was a glorious day in Seattle and I was able to steal a few hours away for myself and organize my silver girl readying her for our upcoming trip next weekend. It’s funny how organizing her, also helps clear my mind and helps me focus.

We’re taking her on a trip that will take us to the northwesternmost point of the contiguous United States — Cape Flattery here in Washington State. Photography opportunities should be incredible from all the photos I have seen on line so far and I can hardly wait. I’m also looking forward to being (far) away from corporate America and spending quality, quiet time with the boys on the beach.

After pouring myself a cup of tea this afternoon, I flipped through some holiday recipe books in seek of inspiration for this weekend. Needless to say, I was overcome with ideas so now I just need to put it all together and come up with the official menu. The only ingredient I have purchased so far is the turkey breast (yikes)! Thankfully I have a few more days to shop and prepare.

I think back on the last few Thanksgivings we have spent with our silver girl. She has taken us to some pretty beautiful spots. Odlin County park on Lopez Island here in the San Juan archipelagos of Washington State is fresh in my memory. A soft sandy beach side spot with a view of the surrounding islands. In the evening we enjoyed watching the ferries pass and pause to admire our living Christmas tree we adorned with lights.

A memory I will never, ever forget.

Hubby, B, Oliver and I are sending you warm wishes this holiday season.

It means so much to have you here.

With all my heart,

Humbly,

Monica XOXO
