So as soon as I started this book, I thought: "Oh God, not another unoriginal dystopian story..."
Muahahahahaaa...
So overall, this book was great! It was interesting, to say the least. It is definitely action-packed. Like legit, it was action after action after action, and it was written in a way where the action wasn't overdone and instead kept you in suspense.
The only problem I had was that it was a bit slow in the beginning. However, it wasn't too terrible because the slow parts were weaved in with the more "interesting" parts of the story, so it was given to the readers little-by-little. Usually when things start to get slow in a book, you get all of the slow parts at once. That wasn't the case with this book, and I appreciated that very much!
I also LOVED the animal hybrids. They were sooo unique. I seriously did not know what to expect as I read on because the animals that are combined are ones that I personally would have never thought of putting together! The illustrations (you can see one of them above) were also fun to see! I LOVED them as well! You could tell that a lot of time and work was put into this entire aspect of the book/story, and that time was sooo worth it in my opinion!
